Need your prayer life to jump-start? Try praying these four prayers every day

People get too mystical about prayer.

They have to have a certain feeling or tingle.

The Bible is, actually, full of prayers.  The good news is that we know that a Biblical prayer is a perfect prayer.

Why not pray prayers that the Holy Spirit created?

You will find below four prayers that I try to pray every day.  They came straight out of the Bible, and I feel they will work for you.

Choose the one you need the most and get started there:

  1.  A prayer for your RELATIONSHIPS.

Here is a prayer Paul prayed in Philippians for his love to increase “more and more.”  I NEED MORE LOVE in my relationships!

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. (Phil. 1: 9-11).

Memorize this prayer and pray it every day.  Watch your love and discernment in relationships grow deeper and more tender each day.

2.  A prayer for your PURPOSE.

We all need more understanding of the will of God for our lives.  We wander from bad decisions to bad decisions.

Pray this prayer daily for a spirit of wisdom and understanding in the perfect will and purpose of God:

...that you may be filled with the KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully PLEASING to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” (Col. 1: 9-10)

God has such a perfect plan for your life.  You won’t discover it by accident.

Pray this prayer daily and watch your decisions and directions become amazingly fruitful and pleasing to God!

3.  A prayer for your STRENGTH.

We all go through issues and situations.  The secret of going through them is how much inner (spiritual) strength you have.

I pray this prayer that I may be strengthened when I am at my lowest points, having been in a long battle:

...that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be STRENGTHENED with power through his Spirit in your INNER BEING, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have STRENGTH …“ (Eph. 3: 16-18)

Wow, that one sentence is a mouthful!

See how it prays for your inner strength and that you would stay “rooted in love.”

This prayer has brought me through a lot of tough times.

4.  A prayer for your GROWTH.

This last prayer is for your spiritual growth and development.  No one wants to remain a spiritual baby.  Here it is:

...that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the EYES OF YOUR HEARTS ENLIGHTENED, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints” (Eph. 1: 17-18).

The rest of the chapter is part of the prayer as well.

I have grown spiritually “like a weed” since daily praying this prayer.

For relationships, purpose, strength, and growth, you will never pray better than these four Scripture prayers.

Let’s jump-start your prayer life in all four areas!
