This Is What Happened To Me With Covid 19

This Is What Happened To Me With Covid 19

On December 17th, I tested positive for Covid 19 (Merry Christmas!).

By December 27th, after 11 days, I was sleeping practically all day.  I had a nightly fever around 6:00 p.m.  That Sunday, I felt myself getting really, really weak.

THEN, IT HAPPENED.

At the worst, lowest moment, people began to contact me that Sunday afternoon about praying for me.  They put me on the “Covid 19” hotline.  Pastors from across the country started alerting their prayer networks.  I propped myself up feebly in my recliner and watched our “church at home” broadcast.

During that service, something happened.  I sensed a presence, a powerful presence come into the living room (I’m not spooky).  Hot tears brimmed from my eyes as I sensed the awesome presence of God come into the room during the worship part of the service.  I suddenly felt a dynamic faith, a conquering faith that came out of nowhere.

I took my normal fever tablet at 6:00 that evening.  When I woke up on Monday, Dec. 28, I felt STRONG.  I told Melanie I could do (and did) my stretch bands workout!  Wow, something had drastically shifted.  I felt healed.

I never had another occurrence of fever.  After the third day of perfect temps and no symptoms whatsoever, I knew that Covid was “gone.”  As I write this, I have full energy, appetite, normal sleep, and feel wonderful.

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO THANK THE LORD AND GIVE HIM GLORY FOR A SUDDEN TURNAROUND IN MY BODY.  He deserves all the glory.

What lessons do I take away from this experience?

  1. A true sense of compassion for those fighting this virus.

For many, Covid is barely a cold.  For others, like me, it was a totally fatiguing, draining issue.

Regardless of what Covid has meant for you, we should be grateful to have lived through this deep trial.

  2. A deep sense of worship.

I had a 10 day bout in the hospital about six years ago (only time in my life).  I emerged from that crisis healthy, stronger, and THANKFUL.  I have thanked the Lord for rescuing me almost every day for six years.

The reversal of Covid was almost the same.  When God does something so powerful to rescue you, we should never let Him hear the end of it!

“The highest praise comes from the deepest valley.”

  3. A profound sense of mission.

Covid has shifted our planet.  I’m told that 300 pastors have died in Mexico.  Countless leaders, celebrities, Dads, Moms, and children have been buried.

It makes me want to be sure that everyone around me is truly (as Jesus described it) “born again.”  Getting “forgiven” and getting “religion” is not enough.  Have they received Divine Life, a rebirth of life, a new heart, the heart of a child of God?  Has love replaced hate, freedom replaced bondage, and peace replaced guilt?

Don’t be embarrassed to ask someone, everyone, about the state of their soul.  Covid has moved swiftly across this world ending precious lives.  We need to move swiftly also.

GOD TOUCHED ME.  I wanted you to know and to join me in giving Him thanks, worship, and intensified labor in the harvest.

Thank you for praying for me…and give God thanks for touching me!
